Since 2018, WFGM has partnered with the Annie E. Casey Foundation to position Memphis as one of only seven cities nationwide to implement the Evidence2Success framework. The initiative guides investments in evidence-based strategies that improve outcomes for children and youth in the 38126 and 38106 ZIP codes.

As part of this work, WFGM supports the Strong African American Families (SAAF) Program, a seven-week interactive program that helps strengthen family relationships and reduce risky behaviors among youth. The program addresses challenges identified through the Youth Experience Survey, including poor family management, community disorganization and low neighborhood attachment.

In 2026, WFGM expanded access to SAAF programming by hosting local training for new partner organizations, helping broaden the program’s reach throughout South Memphis. To date, 15 SAAF cohorts have been facilitated.
