Partnerships

The Women's Foundation is a backbone organization that connects people, resources, and organizations to benefit women and families. Partnerships on a state and national level ensure the voices of Memphis families are supported with as many resources as possible. We are thankful to our partners who support the WFGM mission and vision.

Tennessee Women's Funds Alliance (TWFA)

Tennessee Women's Fund Alliance (TWFA), comprised of non-profit funders and advocacy organizations in Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga whose collective work covers almost two-thirds of Tennessee's 95 counties. The purpose of the TWFA is to work together on issues, initiatives, and projects that can improve the lives of women, girls, and families in TN through statewide collaborative efforts and coordination. Tennessee's women's funds share, among other things, a deep commitment to addressing issues of poverty and violence. We hold a common belief that women who can lift themselves from poverty benefit not only themselves, but their families, their communities, and the world.

Young Women's Initiative

As the first collaborative of its kind, the National Collaborative of Young Women's Initiatives (YWI) works to address the core, structural issues that have kept too many of our nation's low-income young women—particularly young women of color— from reaching their full potential.

The Memphis YWI is designed to determine the needs, best practices, policies, and research necessary to build the next generation of leadership and pathways to prosperity for young women and girls, specifically young women and girls of color ages 12-22 in our community.

Our mission is to galvanize and invest resources to achieve a world with gender and racial equity where young women-particularly young women of color– lead, prosper economically, and live safe and healthy lives.

The participating foundations include Dallas Women's Foundation, New York Women's Foundation, Washington Area Women's Foundation, Women's Fund of Greater Birmingham, Women's Foundation of California, Women's Foundation of Minnesota, and Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts.
