Shop for a Cause at the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis’ Annual Power of the Purse™

The must-attend auction event features a night of food, drinks and entertainment to support economic and social mobility for Memphis families.

The Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis (WFGM) will host an evening of food, drinks and entertainment at the 2023 Power of the Purse™ on Thursday, October 26 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Grand Carousel Pavilion of the Children’s Museum of Memphis.

Sponsored by Bank of America, the Power of the Purse™ will feature local artists, Jamond Bullock and Alexis Miché, who will paint pieces live as well as elevated cuisine, complimentary wine and beer, music by singer and songwriter CharveyMac, and a live auction emceed by WMC Action News 5 Anchor, Joe Birch, and President and CEO of Morris Marketing Group, Valerie Morris Bearup. Guests will have an opportunity to bid on luxury jewelry, handbags, vacation packages, dining and entertainment, services for children and more.

Each year, WFGM hosts the Power of the Purse™ ─ a signature fundraiser to gather with supporters, business leaders and donors to raise funds to benefit programs for Memphis women and families. All proceeds support WFGM’s grantmaking and Strategic Plan to reduce poverty and increase investment in five Memphis neighborhoods by 2025.

Trevia Chatman, President, Bank of America, and Christine Gant, Director of Business Development, Gant Systems, are co-chairs of the event. Both are members of WFGM’s Board of Directors. The Honorary Co-Chairs are Carissa Hussong and David Lusk; and Kim and Elliot Perry.

Tickets for the event are $75 and are on sale at event.gives/2023pop. The online silent auction begins Thursday, October 19 and will end on October 26.
