How to Apply

The Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis (WFGM) grant application process is a “By Invitation” Request for Proposal (RFP). WFGM will invite organizations to submit grant proposals that align with our Vision 2020 Strategic Plan designed to reduce poverty and create pathways to economic self-sufficiency for the residents of the 38126 zip code. APPLICANTS MUST ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Be located within Shelby County.
  2. Non-profit organizations with 501 (c) (3) tax exempt designation
  3. No application will be considered from previous grant recipients unless all written reporting requirements have been met.

PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO:

  1. Organizations with programs that serve individuals residing in zip code 38126 aimed at increasing economic self-sufficiency.
  2. Grant requests that include evaluation tools to measure effectiveness of process and outcomes with a clear definition of program success.
  3. Organizations that consult and collaborate with other agencies.
  4. Projects that serve significant numbers, so that resources make a greater impact.
  5. Organizations that have a board, staff, and volunteers that are inclusive of and clearly reflect the diversity of the community served.
  6. Organizations that demonstrate that families served are involved in the planning and implementation of projects and programs.
  7. Organizations that provide programs which facilitate changes in systems, within organizations or changes in individuals needed to reach their full potential.

WFGM DOES NOT FUND:

  1. Individuals
  2. For-profit organizations
  3. Programs that promote religious activities
  4. Projects which take place before  the completion of the grant application process
  5. Projects inconsistent  with federal, state and local non-discrimination ordinances regarding equal employment opportunity
  6. Campaigns to elect public officials
  7. Scholarships
