This month as we celebrate Mother's Day, remember the women that impacted your life everyday with their many thankless sacrifices. Celebrate the strength of the women role models who pushed you forward and taught you to reach back to help others along the way.

A woman rarely has only one title. Be it philanthropist, entrepreneur, mother, mayor, fire chief, CEO or judge...women have many monikers.  Some of these titles were not assigned to women until someone fought to be the first.  As Women's History Month comes to a close, think of and honor the many women in your life and throughout history.

Philanthropies, community organizations, and all people need to be more deliberate to ensure we are taking care of each other. We are challenged in ways that require us to step up and make a meaningful impact to strengthen our community stability. Impact goes beyond the number of people served, especially our citizens living in poverty.

Words have just as much power and impact as action. Every kind word spoken about the Women's Foundation this year was received and helped to inspire and fuel our board of directors, trustees, staff, donors, and volunteers as we push towards fulfilling our mission and vision.

November
The Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis would like to express sincere appreciation to each of you for supporting our mission and vision for economically secure women and children in the City of Memphis.

October
In one of the Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis' (WFGM) largest volunteer efforts, over 100 people supported The 2016 Zip Code 38126 Back to School Drive. Volunteers logged 305 hours to assemble and sort 37,000 total items and distribute 1,000 backpacks to students in two schools located in the heart of 38126.

August
It's not easy to say goodbye to Memphis royalty. Many knew Ruby Wilson, the Queen of Beale Street, as a performer and will remember her powerful presence as an advocate for the City of Memphis.

July
It's hard to believe another fiscal year has come to an end! We raised a record-breaking $2.5 million+ from individuals, corporations and foundations.

June
"Attitude is a choice. What you think you can do, whether positive or negative, confident or scared, will most likely happen."-Pat Summitt.

May
On the day of our Annual Tribute Luncheon, a storm rushed in and the windows of the Memphis Cook Convention Center mirrored gray clouds, dark skies, and lots of rain. Our 1600 attendees brightened our day with smiles and encouraging words. People came from all over the city to hear our keynote speaker, enjoy a great lunch, fellowship, and help us honor the three trailblazing women we recognized as our 2016 Legend Award Honorees.

April
We are proud of the growing support of both local and national partners to make the greatest impact in Memphis.

March
As we celebrate Women's History Month, we're all thinking about the women in our lives who have impacted us in the biggest way. These women can be a favorite author, your mother or a historical figure. Either way, long held conversations about women continue to sweep through the past, present and upcoming generations.
