Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis to Host
Annual Grants Showcase and Volunteer Recognition October 11

$630,000 to be awarded to for grant making, advocacy and research

Memphis, TN – The Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis (WFGM) will host its annual Grants Showcase and Volunteer Recognition Thursday, October 11 at the Hilton Memphis (939 Ridge Lake Blvd.) from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Morgan Keegan, doors open to the public at 4:30 p.m.

This year, $548,000 will be awarded to 33 deserving organizations that support the Women’s Foundation’s mission of helping women and children reach their full potential. Another $82,000 will be devoted to advocacy and research. Since 1995, WFGM has granted $6.6 million to 395 organizations and made a total investment of $14.3 million. Each grantee organization will have booths available to share the great work they do in the community.

“The Grants Showcase and Volunteer Recognition is one our most exciting events because our donors, supporters and the community have the opportunity to see what our grantee partners  do and who they serve,” said Ruby Bright, Executive Director and CAO of the Women’s Foundation. “Their work throughout Memphis has bettered countless lives and the Women’s Foundation is proud to be a part of that.”

The cornerstone of the WFGM is its nearly 400 volunteers. At the event, the Women’s Foundation will also name the Volunteer of the Year.

“Our volunteers are a very integral part of the Women’s Foundation’s success,” Bright said. “We simply couldn’t do it all without dedicated volunteers who generously give of their time and talents. They deserve to be recognized for the work they do to further our mission of empowering women and children to reach their full potential.”
